would this be considered an anxiety problem?

i’m trying to help my mom. over the holiday, her computer broke. i was fixing it (and i knew i’d be able to fix it, it would just take time) but she got SO STRESSED out it was extremely unrealistic. she was extremely agitated and kept saying that it was stressing her out so badly she felt sick and couldn’t relax. she was agitated for the 3 hours that it took me and said she couldn’t handle the stress of it happening again.
sometimes she gets like this. she just doesn’t know how to deal with stress at all. is this considered an anxiety disorder? she isn’t generally anxious and doesn’t have difficulty sleeping or have the major symptoms of full blown attacks. if not, what would it be called, just not handling stress well? what is a good way to help her? any good books about this? thank you!
hi, i will clarify: my mom really had no reason to be stressed out. she barely uses the internet and has dial up. they basically check email and she has access to that every day at her office anyway. that’s what was so strange about it!

Just based on my own opinion I don’t think it’s really a disorder if it isn’t prolonged. However from what you put that sounds a little over the top, it is the holiday season which is generally stressful to most anyway, maybe there is something going on otherwise that she’s displacing her anxiety from, I’m a very anxious person and tend to not let the main things bother me and freak out about small stuff if she stays that way I’d say just do what you can to help out around the house or small stuff so it’s one less thing she has to deal with. If it keeps up then hit up a barnes and noble or something and skim around for books that you might find useful

Yes she is definitely over-stressed, but I’m not sure she would qualify having anxiety reaction.
Some things just stress some people more than others.

I would think she would greatly benefit from some stress management classes!

It’s so nice of you to help your mum:) If it’s mixed with depression or negative self-talk it’s easier to tell if it’s anxiety disorder, but here are some books that might be helpful (scroll down the page to se more):
