I am 35 and have it in my lower/mid back….especially when the weather turn cool and damp. I use hot showers and Absorbine Jr with asprin….are there any other foods that will help?? All natural remedies? I dont like Drs or drugs and the pain isnt severe anyway…just a nuisance mainly

I find it better to stretch it out and use warm wraps.

GLUCOSAMINE/CHONDROITIN works the best for a natural remedy. I recommend the highest strength you can go for your money. It is pricey but worth it! I used to work for GNC so i know my natural remedies. The elderly would come in for it ALL the time. It’s best to use them in combination. If you can afford it, get the one with MSM added.

You’re young, so it may not be arthritis. Only a doctor can diagnose true arthritis; have you gotten such a diagnosis? It could be something treatable/curable.
Watch your aspirin intake. You want to take only the equivalent of one 80 mg. aspirin (low dose) every two or three days. Aspirin can cause stomach ulcers, stomach upset, indigestion, etc.
Try one of the supplements or beverages with “joint formulas” containing condroitan(sp), etc. and go to see a chiropractor. It’s possible that you have exacerbated your arthritis with another injury (like a slipped disk).

If you can’t get one of these mattress’s (they’re expensive) then prop pillows under your knees and sleep on your back, never on your stomach. Likewise, if you prefer to sleep on your side, just tuck a pillow between your legs, near your knees.
Old-time remedies thought to have some merit: Cod liver oil (rubbed nightly on the spot of pain) and laying on a bar of Ivory soap.
If you smoke: stop. Nicotene can eventually interefer with your brain’s ability to produce endorphins (feel good chemicals) that you’ll need to call on if you begin to experience pain.
Lastly, diets containing the healthy matrix of nutrients and fiber that come from fruits and vegetables have been shown to reduce the severity of athritic pain in some studies, so be sure to include enough of these in your diet. Be sure to do some gentle weight-bearing exercises on a daily basis, and keep your weight in check.
