clarkkevin90 asked:

Yesterday I posted a question on here asking if you can develop a heart attack due to anxiety attack. I am satisfied with the answers I got, however, I do have one more.

Is it at all possible to have an anxiety attack WITHOUT a racing heartbeat or any physical symptoms at all?

A few hours ago, I was just overwhelmed with the most awful feeling. My mind felt like it was racing 120 mph. I tried to read something, and I could not even comprehend anything on the page. I began to get extremely agitated and paced back and forth back and forth…I started biting my nails in a nervous fervor and even tried to drink a glass of water while walking around, hoping to “shake it off.”

I felt like I was two steps away from being in a padded cell, it was ridiculous. I felt like I was losing my MIND. I thought maybe it was an anxiety attack, but I had no fast heartbeat or dizziness to go along with the feeling. That is a big first for me. I’ve had anxiety attacks for a year now, and I always felt like my heart was going to explode, but this time there were no physical symptoms to speak of, just what I mentioned above.

I went for a drive for half an hour around town, and by the time I arrived back home, I was completely fine again and felt like I had regained my sanity.

Does anyone know if this could be an anxiety (or panic) attack without the racing heart and stuff? Because that’s something I never experienced before, and never hope to again! It was absolutely terrible!

Caffeinated Content
