Cancer/Panic attack question?

Jon D asked:

First of all im an 18 year old male, slightly overweight and i don’t smoke. About a month ago i started feeling weak and without urge to move after i had mowed the lawn. It started to worry me and i had a panic attack. Since then i have been on edge. 2 weeks ago i found an **** lump, and have noticed other symptoms of colon cancer such as thin stools and i feel like i have to go when i dont actually have to. A week after that(one week ago) i felt very anxious for a few days and then it all built up into a panic attack. Afterwards i had aftershock effects in which i kept having very small and stretched out panic attacks for days(I still have them now). I know panic attacks are safe but now im really worried that maybe these panic attacks are symptoms of cancer. However i really hope its the other way around and my cancer symptoms are just a result of my anxiety(all except the lump anyway). Anyone have any ideas? Even if i don’t have cancer, i really don’t want to have this intense anxiety for the rest of my life. I feel as though i might have Post Traumatic stress disorder or something.

  1. The lump you feel may be a hemorrhoid, a boil or even an ingrown hair. You are likely having panic attacks associated with the fear of having cancer. If you go see your Dr. and get a dx on the lump, then I feel your panic attacks will disappear. But while at the Dr. getting the lump checked, you can ask him about panic attacks as well.
