Is ‘castration anxiety’ one of the major causes of religious terrorism in the world?

Seriously? That’s what you think?
Lack of understanding of other beliefs and being raised in an environment of religious fundamentalism would I think be more likely to blame.
But also oppresion and persecution, like the opression and persecution of the arabic people by the United States. Don’t forget, one mans terrorist is the other mans freedom fighter.
There are a lot of castrated people in this world and very very very very very very few are terrorists.
And Freudian psychology does have some merit – especially when talking about things such as repression of traumatic memories (castration would generally not be an accesible memory because it would be formed by a much younger mind which could not be understood by the older one – please study if you don’t know about that). But Freud also had some pretty whacked out ideas – that all children are sexually attracted to their opposite-sex parent until the age of about five for example. Don’t believe everything he wrote just because one of his ideas was pretty spot on.
Oh and lastly – what other reasons do your unspecified “they” give? Faiths tend to be pretty much open about the fact that castration is about a sacrifice to God. It’s written in the Torah (or old testament for the christian folk)
