How long do I have to scrubs my tortoises’ shells with Betadine oil before the white spots go away?

Both of my leopard tortoises have white spots on their shells. I have the correct UVB lighting (for a while I didnt), their cage is clean and now I’m monitoring the temperature in their water dish. I started scrubbing their shells with diluted Betadine oil (actually the generic version since every place I go to doesn’t have actual Betadine oil) but how long will it take before the spots start going away?
