how do i get rid of this phlegm i have in my chest?

May 10th, 2010

KOKO asked:

I’ve had it for a long time now.. i went to the doctor and they gave me antibiotics, i felt better while i was on them but that didn’t fully cure me.

Whenever I am in the cold it worsens, it’s hard to breathe and such, because of all the phlegm i have in my chest.

I eat halls cough drops and they help a lot but I’m tired of depending on them and anxiety worsens my problem by a lot.

the phlegm is clear, in the morning it’s yellowish and when i get up in the morning i blow my nose and there are strands of blood.. and my nose is usually stuffy also.

Thanks for help, in advanced.

A good product that can be helpful is Mucinex (aka guaifensin). I sometimes use Robitussin DM for helping to clear up the phlem. The downside to that I found is that it can really dry out my nose.

Did your dr do a chest x-ray too to see if they could gain anymore clues from this situation to check for bronchitis and such?

    try mucinex.

it is supposed to clear all mucus and phlegm in your sinuses and chest. its an otc drug so you dont need a prescription and it costs somewhere around 15 bucks. buy it pretty much anywhere like a drug store or maybe a supermarket.

I think you have COPD (Cronic Obstructive pulmonary disease)
    Heres a link:
But don’t get upset by the name, because its so new a disease they hardly know what to call it. It is a combination of chronic bronchitis and emphysema, now theres two main causes that should not be taken lightly. The main one is air pollution. Thank the almighty oil industries for that one. Try and stay inside as much as possible. The other is molds and bacteria that are becoming more aggressive, this has to alot with agriculture and chemicals they use, because certain good molds that kill the bad molds are dying off, making the bad molds more mainstream.
Try oil of oregano, its good for the immune system and helps kill molds in the body, you can purchase it at the local health food shop. Also get an asthma test from your doctor and ask to try the product Advair, its a newer inhailer that may allow you to breath easier and quell your symtoms.
