high anxiety/ panic attack/ smoking weed?

alright so ive recently started smoking pot about a month ago. and i really like it. i had been smoking it regularly (at first, every other day. then just on the weekends and a few week days)
but around the same time (a little earlier) i have developed very bad anxiety.
well, my point- the other night i had one hit from a friends bong and i went super paranoid.
basically i had a horrible night, and I had either my first panic attack or just…a weird experience
i had all the symptoms of a panic attack, but im not sure if it was my original ANXIETY or if it was just the weed that made it happen.
Before this, ive had a couple minor anxiety attacks, but nothing on this scale.

are there any good ways to help clear up the anxiety? i want to get back to my weeeed
and dont tell me not to smoke, i really dont give a **** if you think weed is bad.

Yeah, I stopped smoking all together because I couldn’t take the paranoia anymore. I have anxiety and it started 7 years ago when I started smoking. I don’t know if it’s the reason for my anxiety, but whenever I smoke my anxiety gets like tenfold. I stopped smoking like 5 months ago after a big paranoid attack. I started off having fun with it too, but its not worth it. Just drink your *** off instead!

the same thing happened to me! i started crying hysterically because i hit my boyfriend in the face on accident ,and it was pretty funny to think about now but at the time i started freaking out.. then i thought i was molested by a guy or something. yah anyways, just make sure you smoke slowly so you dont get so stoned, and make sure youre also in a relaxing place with the least about of stress so youll get a good high.
it also happened to me when i was at a creek and i had to like rock climb up this dirty hill high and i was freaking out too. its just the weed. like i said you need to be in a safe place.

Okay, first let me say that I don’t think weed is bad…having said that, it CAN cause paranoia (anxiety) in many people. You need to weigh the advantages against the disadvantages and make a decision as to whether to continue to smoke or not.
I might also add that sometimes your weed may be laced with something, and you don’t always necessarily know what you’re getting.

I’ve seen many people quit for this reason. It’s caused by changes in life where people have more responsibility and stress and think more about life and consequences and all. Normally, if you’re in a comfortable environment, relaxed, with friends, and being drunk helps, you will get that relaxed nice vibe, so try to only smoke in that environment. If you still get the panic attacks from smoking even in the most relaxed environment and you’ve had a few drinks, then maybe it’s time to consider that it may not be the narcotic for you. Maybe something like ecstacy would be better.

It’s happened to me, and then sometimes it hasn’t. I once read an article that said that weed can amplify certain underlying emotional disturbances like anxiety, depression, etc. I have also heard many people say that panic attacks and paranoia were the reason why they stopped. In this case you have a few options.1. Make sure you are completely relaxed before smoking and in a controlled enviroment. 2. Don’t smoke weed. or 3. Take a xanax or other benzo before smoking, though I wouldn’t rely on this one too heavily, as detox from benzos can kill ya. Good luck
