any caffeine drink will increase anxiety.

Take the problems you have and multiply them by 1000000000000000000000.
That’s what alcohol does. Don’t take Ecstasy at the parties unless you want to end up in a Mental Hospital. They’ll cause those same symptoms on the long run, except worse.
Go to a Dr. and try an SSRI and/or Lamictal. The panic attacks will disappear within 1 month of therapy.
Don’t take Xanax, etc unless you tried the above first and it didn’t work. They are physically addictive
The symptoms of being physicaly addicted are anxiety disorder and panic attacks, not to mention psycosis… It’s no different from being addicted to *****.
Be safe!

Hi,
First off are you on any medications for your anxiety?
Lexapro, the above answer said to get on, my personal experience stay away from it is an anti anxiety medication plus depression. If you drink it will make it worse.
I have been on Xanax, Klonopin, and now on Valium and yes they are addictive anxiety medications but I do drink and my doctor knows. I do not abuse the anxiety medications I am on and my last prescription of Valium lasted three months, which was only suppose to be one.
Anxiety is caused by racing thoughts etc… I cannot tell you if you drink that you will be fine, it depends on the situation if you are having a good time then it should not. If you anxious before you drink then yes it may.
My experience is that I need both to calm and relax me so when I go out it does not affect me because I am having a good time and not worrying about having an attack because my mind is focused on having fun.
Edit to your additional details: If you are not on any medications then the alchohol will not interfere and make the effects of drinking and taking medication not an issue.
As far as having fun and getting drunk for your birthday that is your choice. Like you said you do not drink often. In my situation as I stated it calms me and keeps my mind away from my anxiety, but that is my personal experience.
Congrats on staying away from medications, I know it is hard. I could not handle my attacks in the beginning and after 5 years started taking anxiety medications. I am again weaning off.
Have a great birthday and be safe if you do drink

Yes it will affect badly and the disorder will increase, so as much as possible avoid drinking.
