Mommytobe asked:
I would really like to talk with someone who is going through the same thing. The first symptom I ever had was numbing of my hands, then a few days later my left foot, leg, arm and hand went numb. My throat closed up and my heartrate was extremley high. I thought I was going to die from a heartattack. All I could think about was my little girl living her life without her mom. So anyways, I went to the hospital and he told me I was having a panic attack. Few days later, it was not only my left side but also my right foot, leg, arm and hand.. ocassionally my head, face and lower back. I went to a different doctor and he said they werent panic attacks because they only affect the left side, is this true?? He said the numbness of my right side had to be from something different other than panic attacks but I personally think they are panic attacks but not 100% sure. No one has given me any medication to help it and its starting to become very bothersome and nerve wracking. Anyone else experience panic attacks that result in right side numbness?? Oh and sometimes I dont feel like Im having a panic attack but my limbs will still go numb and ive noticed that the attacks only come at night ???

Drink Chammomile tea right before bed every night as a tonic for your nerves, and cut way back on coffee if you drink it.
Deja
They run in my family.
I’ve only had them when severely hyperthyroid (makes the whole body on antural speed, your heart and body never rest, even during sleep, anxiety is hihg etc)
when I saw lots of my own blood.
My uncle would get them just leaving the house (agoraphobia) and my mother, in the middle of grocery shopping.
I never got numbness, don’t know about the family.
Anyway,
you may have something other than panica attacks causing numbness,
but if you’re imagining dying and leaving behind your child over something like numbness, then yes, you are probably having them.
If your heart is pounding, you’re sweating, and you’re going to the ER to find nothing diagnosable, it’s a panic attack.I’d still ike to know what’s up with your limbs, because I have experience with them, and only a BA in Psychology, not an MD and PhD in clinical psych, so it would be interesting to know what causes the physical symptoms.
Still, it sounds very much like a panic attack to me.
And there is plenty you can do about it, so that’s great news!
Just make sure you don’t have a thyroid or other bodily condition, which so often is overlooked as anxiety.
I spent ten years with an even worse thyroid condition than I had in the teen years, but my therapists and doctors didn’t catch it till I wanted to die and my son ahd long lived with his dad and I had lost two jobs.
So, don’t take no for an answer- get your doctor to do a full panel on you.
Print this if you need it.
Please doctor, I suffered more than 15 years and lost custody of my boy. And he’s still not OK.
Please get this woman a blood panel.
Be well!

I think you’re having a cell phone tower attack, not a panic attack.
