Did Lexapro help your Generalized Anxiety Disorder?

I’ve been weak, lightheaded, and dizzy from anxiety which is causing me issues at work, and when I got out in public. Plus, I can’t stop thinking about how I’m going to fix myself. Just wondering if Lexapro helped your generalized anxiety disorder?

No. It made me more anxious. It has a stimulating effect on some people. It is in there to help people have energy to go face the day. But made me feel jittery like I drank to much coffee.

I have only been on Celexa which is similar, it made my anxiety much worse.

I’m taking Lexapro to help with panic/anxiety attacks. I only have them once or twice a week and my Dr. gave me several sample packs of this stuff.
I didn’t want something that I have to take every day or that would alter my mood….plus I can’t afford this stuff when the samples run out.
Anyway, I only take one when I feel an anxiety attack coming on.
To me, they seem to work a little like xanax – which is what I wanted in the 1st place. They’re cheap and you can break them in half and only take a little and only when you need it and they WORK. FAST.
But I got lexapro. Sometimes it works to calm me and reduce the panic attack, but doesn’t ever stop it completely. Other times it doesnt seem to do anything.
But like i said, I only take them sporadically. Can’t afford them and after taking an antidepressant (effexor) before….I don’t wanna start on these and then get cut off from them for lack of $$.
I thought i was gonna die when I quit taking effexor. Worst feelings in the world.
