I am not sure how long it takes, but why don’t you see a dentist if the pain was bad enough to take vicodin. You could have an infection. If it is not treated the infection could end up in your bloodstream and you would become septic. sepsis is difficult to treat and people many times end up with septic shock and die. Besides that if you go see the dentist and get at least started on an antibiotic you could get a pain prescription and then you don’t have to worry about having taken something not prescribed to you. In the future don’t take others medications, it can be very dangerous if you take something that is the wrong dosage for you or has interactions with other meds or health problems you are having or if you may be allergic to it or a component of it. Also, you could try over the counter ambesol and tylenol or advil for pain. Anytime you think you need that strong of pain med you should probably be seen by a medical professional. Pain is the body’s way of alerting you to a problem don’t just treat the pain, treat the underlying problem. Good Luck.
