Heather asked: Please only help if you’re going to be serious about this.
Okay, this might be a little long, but please help. So, for about 4 months now I’ve changed completely. I was the one who always loved being outgoing and being around friends and having a good time, until about 4 months ago when everything suddenly changed. I started getting scared over everything, I would have sudden panic attacks, I’d always expect the worst, I would have horrible headaches/stomach aches. Well, I never told my parents or doctor, which was a mistake, but now my mom figured it out and she’s trying to get help for me. I didn’t think it was all that serious until Friday at school when I had a sudden panic attack in the bathroom with my friend before lunch and I fell down shaking and couldn’t control myself. I’ll be going back to the doctor soon of course, but the only thing that could possibly help me is seeing some person who I could talk and who could help me.
Other things:
- Feeling tense
- Unable to make decisions
- Stomach aches
- Lack of appetite
- Chest Pain
- Muscle Pain
Any opinions, advice, information? Anything’s appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Trojan8408 asked: I am a 23 yr old guy. I am fairly high functioning school and work wise. I have been diagnosed with this for about 6-7 years now, but have had it since I was about 13. I am good about taking my meds regularly.
My question is, do you ever feel like at times that you are losing it or are feeling “flaky,” like you want to just start all over in life or not stick stuff out–just out of the blue. It really scares me when this happens. I feel this way sometimes, as far as the thoughts coming into my mind and I just ignore them and try to go on. I know it is irrational thinking and if I let it get to me, I will end up doing wishy washy stuff and pissing off and hurting people that I don’t mean to or would ever want to. An example would be trying to cancel and then get a date back on and then on/off with a girl that I like a lot and I know wants to go out with me.
I was just wondering if anyone else ever goes through this?
It isn’t hearing voices like a schizophrenic would- it is more like compulsive thoughts that just kind of pop up and keep on popping up in my mind, almost like getting a very similar text message pop up mentally a whole bunch of times in a row. I also find myself wanting to do irrational stuff that doesn’t fit in my schedule or to just change jobs just for the heck of it, for the sake of change. It doesn’t make sense because maybe four to five hours later, I am like “what the hell was that?” Like I said earlier, I ignore it because I konw it will not only end up hurting me and others- in a lot of cases even more-as well.
What can I do about this? Is there anything that you do as far as coping skills or something along those lines to help with those thoughts? Thanks for all of your help and time.
JOHN

Earthling asked: I am looking for any/all input about dealing with panic and anxiety disorders and other disorders they lead to such as agoriphobia and depression.
I need this information not only for myself, but I want to help others as well.
I began having sporadic panic attacks about 10 years ago. After about 3 years of wondering what was going on (since I was getting worse) I started to do research and assumed a self diagnosis, which was later confirmed by various doctors. My worse period (daily 24/7, was between the time I was diagnosed up to about 3 years ago. I have been doing meditaion practice for about 8 years and Tai Chi and Yoga for about 3 years. I have had some major progress, but the sensations still come and go. I don’t really get depressed, but I certainly don’t live my life as fully as most people. I am an agoraphobic and I have been taking alprazolam for situation relief or when I feel like I’m going to lose it during a relapse. Want to write more, but out of space. Thanks
