I_M asked: 24-30 hrs before my attack, I had consummed 4 cups of irish cream coffee, one cup after the other, and as always some diet coke. Then today, I consummed about 3 glasses of diet coke as well. I have only slept about 3-4 hrs.
So here’s what happened. Last night, I was trying to sleep, but was VEY irritable and feeling paranoid because I work in the oncology dpt of a hospital and started feeling paranoiud about having cancer and going through chemo. I have never felt this way before, and i have been there for 2 months. Then today I was helping my bf out with a research paper, and I just cracked. I started yelling and then it turned to crying and then boom! panic attack. The worst symptom of it all was that my lips went numb.
I have had maybe 4-5 attacks before during my teens, but that was related to a death in the family.
so is it the caffeine that caused this? The paper was health related by the way…
(sorry for the typos, Im still feeling a little anxious)
Just_two_01:
I actually have never had a migraine, and I never get headaches either ( I guess I’m lucky). The numbness moved from my lip to my left eye.
I usually dont have trouble sleeping, I have been having more caffeine than usual lately though.
As for the melatonin, you’re right, it’s a sleep aid..and a simpler way to get it is through warm milk. Sounds gross, but true
I’m starting to feel more at ease…but Im just shocked that caffeine can ahve this effect on me, as it’s never done this to me before.
And thanks for all your responses so far, I really appreciate everyone’s input.

????? asked: Is crying, sobbing, and having a feeling of lump in your throat, trouble breathing and shivering main symptoms of having a panic attack?
Would a person be having a panic attack if they are CRYING/SOBBING SOOOOOOOOOOOO hard and can’t stop while having the above symptoms???
Also, if crying IS one of the symptom of panic disorder/or having a panic attack, WHY does that happen???
I’m trying to find ways to calm my best friend when she’s having this ‘episode’ I’m not sure how, she’s always crying when I bring this up, she’s sorta shy person, and quiet, we have this debate to do last week and she suddenly walked out of the class crying so hard, I just felt so sad. I want to help her somehow, but don’t know how! Please help!
Tell me why is she crying? I ask her but she says she don’t know, she said she don’t think she can be in the debate because she feels she’s going to start crying and having all those symptoms… which I think is a panic attack, right?
I’m not sure, someone help, please…
Thank you so much in advance!

toolate asked: could these be coincidence or are these symptoms? chest sensation sometimes hard to breathe, and nervousness, cant sleep head going through weird fast thoughts, nightmares? my dad was having these ALMOST every night he didnt drink i know the chest ones sounds weird but it scared him one night so he went to the hospital and he was completely fine as far as chest and heart go. he said he felt uneasy and almost like panic attack symptoms withOUT the sweating and shaking. im just wondering if it really was from not drinking because the nights he did drink he was fine….WEIRD? if it is withdrawal how long do they tend to last if he was to quit for good?

Caroline C asked: 2-5 times a week, I’ll start feeling really weird and really sad
ill often get very angry and then very sad or vice versa
then ill start to cry violently, and it feels differently from regular crying
these crying spells usually last from 10-40 minuets
i cannot find anything about this on the internet, do you know what it is?
I am under a lot of pressure right now, and when i had them before in the fall, i was also under a lot of pressure.
In the month or two between i was not under as much pressure
i also have similar episodes or i get headaches when i have not eaten enough
whenever these crying spells happen, my parents just think i haven’t eaten enough, but the crying spells feel different
also during/around the crying sessions, the littlest things make me very very sad
what is it and what can i do?
