Can panic disorder cause problems walking?

October 7th, 2009

Chris I asked:

I am a 19 year old female. I recently had a panic attack 5 days ago and had attacks every few hours for a few days. These attacks would make me shake violently and sometimes not be able to breathe easily. I still shake at times, but I found that I cannot walk since everytime I try my legs feel and act like rubber. Is this common with panic attacks? or can it be another disease like MS?

I think you should try a gluten free diet. I had terrible anxiety and developed ataxia (coordination problems). and it turned out to be celiac disease. It’s an autoimmune disease caused by gluten intolerance. Most of the serotonin in your body is located in your intestines, so if they’re compromised like they would be with celiac disease, your body can’t use it and psych or neurological problems often result. 1 in 100 people have it so it’s very common.
