Anxiety Attack? Please Help?
February 26th, 2010
TruthSeeker asked:
I was under a lot of stress earlier today and had some caffeine as well…as I was talking to someone about what was stressing me out so badly, I almost fainted 3 times. My heart was beating very hard, although only slightly faster than normal. I was shaking and felt like I couldn’t breathe right. I always have floaters in my eyes because of an astigmatism, but they got much worse during all this. Since that happened, I’ve had a very fatigued soreness in both my legs up to my lower back to where I don’t feel like I can even walk (as if I’d just run a marathon). I do have diagnosed generalized anxiety, but have not experienced something like this before. Are these symptoms of a panic attack? If not, are they symptoms of another illness?

I have GAD as well – and every now and again I experience a Panic Attack similar to what you just described.
Personally, I would stay away from caffeine – it makes any type of anxiety worse.

They do sound like symptoms of a panic attack, but I would go and speak to your GP just to be sure. Maybe get a blood test cos when you’re deficient in vitamins and minerals anxiety can get worse. I’d say your sore legs are probably just from the exhaustation associated with anxiety attacks. Your body pumped itself full of adrenalin and now you’re “coming down”.

Yes, my panic attacks are a lot like what you just described, I also notice the floaters in my eyes when I’m having an attack. I see blackness as if I’m fainting and fear that I’m about to die.
You’re not alone in these feelings!
