29 weeks pregnant. Sharp pain on right side of stomach with back pain. Should I go in or no?

Carianne B asked:

I am 29 weeks pregnant. It’s turning into constant pain on my right side. I’m also pretty nauseous with a lot of back pain. I have two other kids and never had this problem. Should I go in or no? I’m not sure if maybe the placenta is detaching. I have already gone into early labor once. Any tips.

If you feel like you need to go in, go ahead and do so. It can never hurt! I will be 26 weeks Monday and I’ve been having so many cramps, and pains. Weird things going on with discharge and such that I’ve contemplated going in many times. I always wait to see if things get worse or stay the same. Since I am able to sleep all night with no pains waking me up, I haven’t went in..

It’s very confusing since aches and pains are normal, yet so scary… I always wait an hour when I’m thinking about going in. If I feel worse I’d go.. Go by what you feel you should do. Good luck!!!!!

YES. I had back labor at 29 weeks and didn’t realize it because I have a bad back. By the time I got off of work for the day I noticed I was spotting. By the time my husband got me to the hospital I was almost fully dilated and almost lost my son due to placetal abruption.

If you don’t have fibroids then I would say yes, to be on the safe side go to the doctor. I am only 15 weeks with pains, but I have been told recently that I have three fibroids and one pedunculated( on a stalk), so I will have to take pain killers and I may feel worse as I grow. I wish I had known about them before I got pregnant.
