Why does my heart skips beats so often? Heart palpitations?

The other day I was bowling, and every few seconds it felt like my heart skipped a beat. Like it would stop, then go BOOM. Does anyone know why? Could it have been nerves? It was a tournament and I had 5 strikes in a row going at the very end. But it felt really weird and was making me feel a little dizzy. It has never happened that much before. Usually only once in a while, maybe once or twice/month. But that day, it happened about 8 times in less than 5 minutes. Why? And is it palpitations? I am 15.
